Eliminate Stubborn Fat Deposits
Even if you exercise regularly and eat well, you may have fat deposits that you just can’t seem to eliminate. Whether they are on your stomach, back, arms, face, or another part of your body, these stubborn fat deposits can make you feel self-conscious, and mask the efforts of your healthy lifestyle. Fortunately, Dr. Rodolfo Castillo has extensive experience performing body contouring procedures and offers liposuction, also known as liposculpture, at his Tijuana clinic. This procedure breaks up and eliminates excess fat cells, leaving you with a more defined, youthful body. In many cases, Dr. Castillo can also redistribute fat cells to create a more proportionate and pleasing figure. Contact us today to learn more.
Preparing for Liposuction
Liposuction is not intended to be a weight loss procedure or to replace a healthy diet and exercise. You should be close to your ideal weight before receiving liposuction. Prior to undergoing the procedure, you will undergo a comprehensive evaluation with Dr. Castillo, and at that time he will examine your overall health and candidacy for liposuction. If he determines it is a good fit for you, he will take detailed photographs and measurements, and together you will begin to plan your procedure based on your aesthetic goals and a realistic outcome. Liposuction can target many areas of the body, including:
- Stomach
- Breasts (mainly used to male breast reduction)
- Buttocks
- Back
- Thighs
- Neck
- Inner Knee
Liposuction is often included in other aesthetic procedures such as breast reductions, butt lifts, and tummy tucks.
Procedure and Recovery
Dr. Castillo performs all liposuction procedures in a hospital to ensure maximum safety. He works with a registered anesthesiologist who will provide general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, depending on your health, preferences, and the specifics of your procedure. Dr. Castillo performs liposuction using a tumescent technique. Once you are anesthetized, he will make tiny incisions through which a small tube, or cannula, will inject a sterile solution into the treatment area. Using this tube, he will loosen and break up the fat cells and carefully remove them. This technique reduces discomfort and minimizes bleeding.
The results of liposuction are immediately noticeable, and the procedure only requires a short recovery time. You may experience minimal swelling and discomfort, which can typically be controlled with over-the-counter pain medication. Dr. Castillo will also provide a compression garment, which you should wear for about two months following your procedure. You should be able to return to work in five to seven days, and you can resume your full range of physical activity after a month.
